The Story
A white workboat docked at Zahniser's Marina in Solomons Island, surrounded by a forest of sailboat masts under a deep blue, cloud-filled sky.
The Location
Solomons Island sits at the confluence of the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay — a working waterfront where watermen's boats still share the harbor with pleasure craft. Zahniser's Marina has been the heart of this community for generations.
Artist's Perspective
"Zahniser's is the heart of Solomons — workboats and sailboats sharing the same water, the same pilings. The forest of masts against that blue sky is what you see when you first walk down to the harbor. I wanted to capture the density and energy of a marina that's actually alive." — Ryan Lott
Curator's Recommendation
The horizontal orientation (landscape cut) makes this piece well-suited for living rooms, offices, and above fireplaces. Available as a fine art paper print or archival-quality framed canvas in white or black.
Print Quality
Archival-Quality Canvas. Made in the USA with globally sourced materials.
Every Chesapeake Focus print is produced on archival-grade poly-cotton canvas using UL GREENGUARD GOLD certified inks — water resistant, fade resistant, and anti-yellowing. Each canvas is hand-stretched over kiln-dried stretcher bars that are knot-free and warp-free, then finished with your choice of hardwood floater frame in matte black, white, brown, or natural. Ready to hang right out of the box.
Stretcher bars sourced from FSC-certified, sustainably managed forests — a quiet nod to the landscapes our work celebrates.
